Yesterday's post talked about how it is easy to create striking projects using the contrast and interest that the colour black adds. Today we are showing some cards that have simple elegance by using texture and lots of white.
Adding texture using embossing folders is a go-to technique for me. The ones I used for this project are some of the Kaisercraft 5x7 embossing folders so I could emboss the card front but not the back so it was still easy to write in (and saves cardstock too since there are less layers in the card).
I love that a simple design with a bit of colour gives that 'wow' factor without a lot of effort. These cards are particularly simple and could be jazzed up a bit with some mist or ink splatters too depending on your style. At this time of year I am looking for quick but pretty results so I have used a pre-made hard gift box and added the white embossed card stock with a tag from the Provencial 6 1/2 inch paper pad and some gold ribbon to decorate the box. Using metallics is another way to make your projects seem more special but without any extra effort.
Other ways to create quick card sets are to use the same technique, stick to the same papers ie in a 6x6 paper pad, and use the same basic design and use premade tags or sentiments ie like in the paper pad or ephemera/collectables packs.
Well hopefully this inspires you to bring out the embossing folders and whip up some quick card sets.
